1. Ethics in AI

AI Ethics is a set of moral principles and guidelines that govern the development, deployment, and use of artificial intelligence systems. It ensures that AI technologies are designed and used in ways that are beneficial, fair, and respectful of human rights.

🤖 Human-Centric AI AI should serve humanity and enhance human capabilities.
📜 Moral Responsibility Developers must be accountable for AI outcomes.
⚖️ Justice & Fairness AI systems should treat all individuals equitably.
🔍 Transparency AI decisions should be explainable to users.
Case Study: Google's AI Principles
In 2018, Google established AI Principles that guide their development. These include commitments to social benefit, avoiding unfair bias, building safety measures, accountability, and privacy.

2. Bias & Fairness in AI Systems

Bias in AI occurs when an AI system produces results that are systematically prejudiced due to flawed data, algorithms, or human decisions. Fairness aims to eliminate these biases.

Types of AI Bias

📊 Data Bias Unrepresentative or prejudiced training data.
🧠 Algorithmic Bias Algorithms that amplify inequalities.
👤 Human Bias Developers' unconscious biases.
🔄 Feedback Loop Bias AI decisions reinforcing existing biases.
Case Study: Amazon's Recruiting AI
In 2018, Amazon scrapped its AI recruiting tool after discovering it was biased against women. The system was trained on resumes submitted over 10 years, predominantly from men.

3. Transparency & Accountability

Transparency

AI systems should be open, understandable, and explainable. Includes Explainable AI (XAI), model interpretability, and openness.

Accountability

Clear responsibility for AI development and outcomes, including audit trails and redress mechanisms.
